What Really Happens in a Makeup Lesson (Spoiler: No Judgment, Just Fun)

If the thought of sitting down for a makeup lesson gives you a nervous flutter—don’t worry, I’ve got you.

I promise, these lessons are not a critique of your current makeup routine. They’re not about tossing out the products you’ve been using forever and telling you you're “doing it wrong.”

That’s not how I roll.

Here’s what it is about:

  1. It’s just you (and maybe a friend), me, and your makeup bag. We sit down at my place here in Wanaka where the lighting is perfect, the tea is brewing, and the vibe is relaxed.

2. You show me what you’re using, and I show you how to use it better. We work with your lifestyle, your skin, your comfort zone. Want five-minute mornings? We can do that. Want to learn how to do a soft smokey eye for events? We can do that too.

3. You apply everything on yourself. I talk you through it as you go, so you leave knowing exactly how to recreate your look of choice at home again and again—and in a way that compliments your features and skin tone best.

And no—you don’t need to have all the “right” tools or products right away. I’ve got everything you could need, so there’s zero pressure to go out and buy a ton of new things right away. And if you want to expand your makeup collection in the future, I’ll make sure you leave with a list of realistic product suggestions that actually suit your skin, lifestyle, and yes—your budget.

It’s all about feeling good in your own skin, not being intimidated by beauty standards or feeling overwhelmed by a cluttered makeup bag.

Getting ready in the morning shouldn’t feel like a chore. Actually, it can be pretty zen, your moment to pause and take care of you before you start taking care of everyone else.

Ultimately, makeup is a form of artistic expression that is extremely personal. It can be as minimal or as involved as you want it to be, and your routine should be as unique as you are.

All you need is some basic makeup know-how, a few tools, and an open mind ready to explore a new world of beautiful possibilities.

With no judgement—just a whole lot of “you got this.”
